Director
I have been building for 10 years and started Scottbuilt in 2012. I have a passion for building high-quality homes and watching my client’s visions turn to reality. I have a focus on building environmentally friendly, sustainable homes that last a lifetime.
Luther Ngakawa
Apprentice
My passion for building started in my final year of High School where I started working with materials to create small projects. Now, I find absolute pleasure in turning a plot of land into a home. It’s a process that gives the greatest satisfaction. Outside of work hours, I find delight in relaxing and spending quality time with my wife and son.
Scott (Junior) Hadland
Apprentice
I got into the building because I used to help my dad build during my school holidays where I was brought into the company after I graduated in 2017. I enjoy jobs because I learn a lot! I mostly enjoy standing frames and gibbing. Outside of work, I like to hang with my friends, play games, and mountain biking. I also enjoy fishing and hunting with my old man when we get to go.
Duane Waugh
Builder
I have been in the building industry for over 35 years in both commercial and residential and have enjoyed the challenges of many different projects. Outside of work, I enjoy motorsports like offroad motorbikes, fishing, and spending time with family.
Shona Karaitiana
Painter/Plasterer
After coming out of rehab, I embarked on a spiritual journey that would direct my future and sustain my sobriety. I handed myself to my higher power and it led me to the local polytech which only had two courses left. I was going to choose Hair Dressing and it closed right in front of me leaving only Carpentry. In my head I asked ‘is this the one?’, there was complete silence but a flashback memory of my Nana giving me a hammer, a bucket of nails and a few small pieces of small timber to play with. I spent hours with those things and loved every minute hammering them together, pulling them apart, putting them together again, so I jumped on the carpentry course which then leads me to meet Scotty. I have been with him for 6 years now and I have loved every moment. It has given me a huge life-changing experience that has allowed me the opportunity to be the best role model mum for my children and family. In my spare time, I love improving my children’s outlook on life, being with them, working alongside CARE animal rescue, and most recently relearning more on my guitars.
Nicole Hadland
Office Manager
I got into office administration because I saw my dad doing office work when I would visit him and as I went through high school, I considered it a career path that I would be interested in after graduating. Outside of work, I enjoy listening to music, writing songs and playing bass, applying makeup, sleeping and binging shows on Netflix.
